HOUSE OF STEEL
About me.
My name is Calvin. I have been a professional Harley Davidson mechanic for over twenty years including eight years at a Harley Davidson dealership (three as lead technician), professional training through Harley Davidson University in Milwaukee, and thirteen years as an independent mechanic. I will treat your motorcycle as though it were my own. I will not send a motorcycle out of my shop unless I think that it is both safe and properly repaired.
I am currently a part time mechanic, working mostly weekends. I have recently given up my shop lease and am transitioning to a mobile business model. I will come to your house with my trailer and all my tools. My trailer is set up to be a completely independent shop with everything needed to work on your bike. I will load up your bike, do the repairs, maintenance, or upgrades, and then unload it back into your garage.
Please read this whole page before contacting me as I do have some restrictions on what I will and won't take on.
If you are interested in becoming a customer please fill out the contact form. I will set up a time to meet with you, take a look at your bike, and see where you live. For obvious reasons I will have a few limitations regarding access with a truck and trailer to your location. I have to be satisfied that I can safely and easily get in and out with my rig.
A couple other things you need to know.
If you are still interested, please go to the Contact page (button just below this text) and send me a message. Be specific about what you have and what you want done. I will try to get back to you within three or four days at the most.

A couple other things you need to know.
- I am a Harley mechanic (sorry, no Japanese, German, or British. I have nothing against them, I just don't have the training, experience, or special tools.)
- Since I am part time (I have a full time job in a different career now) I am selective about the jobs I take on. I just don't have time to do all the motorcycles that come my way and still have a bit of free time left over. Please don't be insulted if I choose not to take you on as a customer. It isn't personal, I am just trying to maintain my sanity by having time off while still doing something I love to do. I will do my best to help you find an alternative. Some of my restrictions include:
- I DO NOT work on custom motorcycles. If your bike is not a Harley I will probably decline to take you on as a customer. I have just had too many bad experiences over the years with non-standard design and custom fitted parts to want to take on those projects.
- I do not work on Shovelheads, Ironheads, Panheads, etc. It's not that they aren't great bikes, it's that I don't have time. They take extra time due to their age and I am fully booked with newer bikes. Honestly if you want to own one of those I strongly recommend that you buy a shop manual and learn to do it yourself. That is about the only way to avoid going broke owning a classic bike.
- I will not take in "my bike hasn't run in years" projects. As in the classic bike situation, I just don't have time to spend days going over one bike figuring out all the stuff that has deteriorated while sitting.
